Our Story

Hi, I'm Sam James Jr.  I began my career in the Hospitality industry back in 1997, at a 4 Diamond resort in Negril, Jamaica.  Behind the bar there, I learned everything from mastering classic cocktail recipes and techniques, to most importantly, how to use those skills to leave my guests in awe and coming back every night for more.

I created Barprints to be your one-stop destination for all things barware and bartending. Whether you're a novice looking to learn the art of mixology or an experienced mixologist searching for premium barware, we have exactly what you need to elevate your home bar.

In my almost 30 years in the industry, I've gone on to train countless bartenders, and create cocktail menus and concepts for bars, restaurants, events and brands like "Worthy Park Estate" Jamaica Rum.

I started Barprints because I wanted to help people who were passionate about mixology, learn how to make their favorite cocktails and share them with their friends & family. 

I figured there were people out there just like me. People who loved spending time with interesting people, engrossed in great conversation, preferably over a tasty meal and great cocktails, having tons of laughs, and creating unforgettable memories which laid the groundwork for epic stories they'd tell for years to come.

I've always enjoyed being at the center of that; being the one that tied it all together and made it all possible. The praise and compliments from those moments made the "shy guy" in me feel amazing. I realized that there are a lot of people out there that wanted to learn more about mixology, but they didn't know where to start; and I wanted to help them experience that feeling too.

I knew these people needed help, and that's why I created a variety of solutions that would help them achieve their goals. From training programs that will teach you everything you need to know about mixology; to providing you with the resources to put what they've learned into practice.
